As a child growing up in the Midwest, I so looked forward to summer vacation. Not only did it mean a break from school, but everything else that summer brought you – the warm weather, warm weather activities such as swimming, canoeing, and picnics and hanging out with friends.
As with everything, summer vacation had to end. Fall came. We had to go back to school. I miss those days of having a 3 month vacation. Now as an adult, I still love summer, but I enjoy and appreciate the change of seasons in the Midwest. I love Autumn – the beautifully colored leaves, the cooler temperatures, times on the patio in the evening with the fire burning with friend and family, and great walks at the park.
