The Different Types of Embroidery Stitches

Embroidery has been a popular form of decorative method for custom t-shirt printing, not just here in Columbus OH, but all over the world. To this day, it continues to set itself apart from conventional screen printing as the application of choice, to convey a first class decorated T-shirt.  It quickly captures people’s attention with unique appearance using its timeless appeal. In the world of garment decorating custom embroidery has always set the gold standard. It’s normally a bit more expensive the typical screen printing or DTF printing, but normally will outlast both these other options.

It all starts with the software. A skilled digitizer can create the illusion of depth even when applying it to a flat item such as a t-shirt. It’s almost as if it appears to jump off the background. This is all achieved by using different types of stitches and applying them in different directions.

1.Running Stitch:

The running stitch is probably one of the simplest and most versatile types of stitches used. It’s accomplished by using a series of evenly spaced straight stitches along the image. This stitch is normally used for outlining images or adding fine detail to custom logo

2. Satin Stitch:

The satin stitch is a popular choice for filling in solid areas in custom embroidery. It creates a smooth and glossy finish by tightly stitching adjacent threads next to each other. This stitch is ideal for adding bold colors and defining intricate shapes, making it perfect for accentuating logos or creating eye-catching designs on tee shirts or patches.

3.Chain Stitch:

Then there is the chain stitch. This is a series of looped stitches that gives a chain-like appearance. This is a type of stitch that can be used for outlining and filling in. It’s a good option for adding intricate detail and is often used on patches.

I just want to wrap this up, by saying that when shopping for screen printing. DTF (direct to film) and especially embroidery, find a Columbus Ohio based company that has the experience and expertise to ultimately get you what you are going to be happy with and proud to wear.
