TALKING TO A “LIVE” PERSON

Can somebody out there answer me why is it that we’re smarter than we ever have been in the history of mankind and yet it’s harder than ever to talk to a real life person and get relevant answers in order to do business? We live in a digital age where information as well as commerce can go from one end of the globe to the other in a matter of seconds and yet nobody wants to answer their phone anymore and the Columbus t-shirt printing industry is no exception to this. How many of us can relate to having to walk through five or six different prompts and then adding insult to injury, being put on hold, while listening to some lame music, in order to eventually talk to a real human in customer service?

I was under the impression that technology was supposed to make our lives easier and less stressful but apparently, just the opposite has happened. We are a Columbus screen printing and embroidery company that actually answers the phone when people call. It appears to me that the Columbus digital t-shirt printing industry is notorious for trying to take the human element out of the equation.

Everything seems to be done off of a website with either emails or texts. Trying to communicate with a real person is normally painstaking. I am old school though, and I think that although emails are a great way to keep track of whatever it was that was agreed upon, there is no substitute for just audible communication. Quite often ordering screen printing comes with numerous complications such as very short turnaround times as well as limited budgets. These are things that an automated voicemail or computers cannot cope with let alone find solutions for. I have often told my customers that if a business does not take your call or return it in a timely manner when they think that you’re a potential customer, how much less likely are they to receive a call in the event that there’s a problem? The answer to that question is not very likely.
