End of the year chat

It’s hard to believe that this year is winding down. It feels like all I did was blink and we’re ready to start a new one all over again. I can remember when I was just a kid that time seemed to pass so slowly. All I wanted to do was get older and here I am many decades later and all I want to try to do is stay young and turn the clock back when it comes to aging. We are all familiar with the saying that life is not fair. When I was young, I had all this energy and determination. However, now that I’ve gotten older, I have a lot less energy but have learned from experience. If only there was some way to take the best of both of those scenarios and combine them? I feel that the very best that we could hope for is to have learned from those life experiences.

I have said that experience is often the best teacher, but whoever coined that phrase never owned a Columbus Ohio T-shirt printing company. I’d much prefer learn from the mistakes of others who have gone before me in order that I can avoid those same pitfalls. I would strongly recommend that we learn to work smarter instead of harder. There are so many advantages today than there used to be back when I first started out in the competitive screen printing business. I’ve heard it said that knowledge is power. The point I am getting ready to make is that although we have tools available that can help us to maximize our potential, there is no benefit to be gained if you do not apply them. For example, let’s say somebody does a relevant search for something like digital T-shirt printing Columbus Ohio. Are you the one showing up? Are you at least on that first page? If not you should be. Every potential job starts out by someone that needs whatever it is you provide regardless what type of industry you are in. With the wonderful advantages that digital technology has given all of us, it is no longer necessary to knock on doors looking for someone who just happens to be in the market for custom T-shirts. Believe it or not, that’s the way I used to do it the overwhelmingly part of my day. The point I am trying to make is that the most challenging part of the sales equation is trying to find someone that just happens to need whatever it is you provide at that particular moment in time. The other part, and by far the easiest, is to simply convince them that your particular custom screen printing and embroidery company is going to be able to give them the best overall value.

Now that we live in a digital world where information can travel around the globe with the speed of light, people would rather sit at their kitchen table and contact someone halfway across the country then have to go into the garage and open your door pull out their car and drive down the street 5 minutes to the local screen printing company. The point I’m trying to make is that you do not have to try and put all that time and effort into finding someone as they are much more likely to find you.
